Tradition Embraces Innovation

On the one hand, all the steps in the making-process of our leather garments are characterized by the long-standing tradition of Il Molino and the environment which surrounds the company. For instance, we still base our production on the hand-cut of the leather to avoid blemishes and create true artworks. We are proud to claim that Il Molino successful history relies on its people expertise and deep knowledge of raw materials, design, and working techniques.

On the other hand, in order to create pieces that maintain their uniqueness over time and respect the environment, we are constantly focused on R&D activities with the aim of perfectly combining tradition with sustainability. We promote to our clients biodegradable leathers, vegan raw materials, and recycled materials.

As a matter of fact, we have been collaborating with a client to produce the first sustainable, biodegradable and recyclable corn-based faux fur. Following, we have valorized a vegan faux leather deriving from grape skins, stalks and seeds discarded during wine production. Ultimately, we are promoting the use of Leather Working Group certified leathers. The LWG is a not-for-profit organisation responsible for the largest leather sustainability program in the world.
